Ingredients
- (2 pounds) Grass-fed Flank Steak
- (1 piece) Juice and zest of lemon
- (2 tablespoons) Shawarma seasoning
- (4 cloves) Garlic, minced
- (1 piece) Onion, sliced
- (3 pieces) Bay leaves
- (1/4 cup) Olive oil
- (1/4 cup) Vinegar
- (1/2 cup) Tahini paste
- (1/3 cup) Lemon juice
- (2 cloves) Garlic, crushed
- (1/2 teaspoon) Salt
- (1/4 cup) Water
Directions
- Marinate the Beef
In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, shawarma seasoning, and minced garlic. Add the steak strips, sliced onion, and bay leaves. Toss well to coat the beef evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours to let the flavors develop. - Cook the Beef
When ready to cook, heat a heavy-bottomed skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef mixture and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through. - Make the Tahini Sauce
Combine tahini paste, lemon juice, crushed garlic, and salt in a bowl or food processor. Blend until smooth, then gradually add water until the sauce reaches your desired creamy consistency. - Assemble the Shawarma
Serve the cooked beef inside warm pita bread or flatbreads. Drizzle generously with tahini sauce and add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, or cucumbers.
Enjoy this flavorful, protein-packed meal fresh off the skillet!
For the shawarma seasoning: Use a store-bought shawarma blend or make your own with cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, and coriander.
